Snow Adventures

I kinda slacked off from blogging all winter because I wasn't feeling fantastic. Now that I'm up and running better I wanted to catch-up a little. We had a good winter and even though I wasn't feeling great we spent as much time as we could in the snow. We went sledding as a family a few times and the boys and I sledded in our backyard a lot too. We were finally able to make a snowman for the first time last week. The snow hadn't been good for that yet. They kids had so much fun. Now all the snow has melted again and who knows if it will come back (I'm ready for Spring so that's me being hopeful)! Anyways, here's a bunch of pics of our snow adventures this winter...

The Night Before Christmas

We had a wonderful evening together. We made cookies for Santa, watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and read "The Night Before Christmas". Connor even sprinkled some food outside for the reindeer. The boys are super excited about Santa coming tonight. Oddly enough they were wired and wouldn't take naps today but at bedtime Connor was insistent that they needed to fall asleep as fast as they could so Santa could come. No fighting them there. I love to hear Haydn say, "Santa Claus coming!" It is just so cute. I can't wait to see their faces in the morning. Also, here are some pictures of the lights and trees (yes, trees! one real, one fake) we have decorating our house. Of course, more pics will follow.

Boating With Grandma

We went out in a boat yesterday morning with Grandma. Connor had been begging to go since he saw the boat in Grandma's garage. He finally talked Grandma into taking the morning off work and taking us on a boat trip. Connor LOVED it as expected. Haydn had a slow go at it but was perfectly content between Mommy's legs, just not sitting by himself. Connor didn't want to stop and he especially liked being in the boat with Grandma. While riding with me he kept saying, "Ok, I want to ride with Grandma again!" I guess he thinks I'm not as experienced even though I thought I did fabulously well controlling the boat. Today we took the kids to the beach today and enjoyed high tide. I love Haydn's face in the last pic where he's freaking out because a little too much water is splashing into his pool. GOTTA LOVE HAWAII!

Labor Day Fun

We had so much fun as a family over Labor Day weekend. We went to the children's museum here and played mini golf there. The kids loved it-Connor because he's totally into it, Haydn because he loves balls and fun places to roll them as you can see. We also found a new hobby we love--GO KARTS! We did this a few weeks ago for the first time and over the weekend we found an even better place to do it. Connor is in HEAVEN when we go as you can see from the constant bright smile on his face. Haydn loved it too. We did some bumper boats too. Connor and I got much wetter than we were supposed to but it was beyond a blast. I just love seeing the sheer joy on our kids faces. It's so fun to have boys!

We won't know until October if he passed or not, crazy huh! Congratulations to the most amazing man! I love you tons! We have a great Texas vacation coming up we are really excited about where we will get to see his family. We are looking forward to having a lot more time with him these days!

Law School Graduation!

Scott graduated on Sunday May 18th, 2008! It was the perfect morning! Graduation was awesome. The boys were well-behaved. My Dad and Mom got to come too. As the ceremony started I got this overwhelming feeling and almost started crying. I can't believe law school is over. Scott has worked so hard and we have grown so much over the last 3 years. I am so proud of him. Scott was all smiles too, giddy almost! Connor was so excited to see his Daddy graduate (although the actual thing was a little boring to him). Haydn couldn't get enough of Scott's tassel as you can see in the photos. Congratulations honey! YOU AMAZE ME! The boys and I are so lucky to have you!

Connor's Soccer Team

This is Connor's soccer team. It's a parent/child class where basically they learn how to control a ball but it's a soccer team. All week Connor has been so excited to play soccer with his Daddy, oh and his friends Katie and Lexi too! They met for the first time today.

Here's Connor playing soccer with Katie and Lexi.

This boy is all about soccer!

Great KICK!

Here's what they did today...They learned how to control the ball with small kicks. They got to dribble around a cone and back to help them learn control. Connor did really great.

They learned how to stop the ball or "put the brakes on". They would dribble the ball until the coach blew his whistle and then they would stop the ball.

Then we played a game of sharks and minnows. Mommies and Daddies were sharks trying to take the ball from the minnows.

Haydn had some fun too! Just try to tell him he's too little to play soccer!

The Coolest Bike EVER

Is this not the coolest bike attachment EVER! Look at the smile on Connor's face! He was in heaven! It'll be good practice for feeling how to ride without training wheels too! Scott put this together on Saturday night and then took it apart after their ride (it easily attaches and detaches from the bike) ...Connor was so crushed. Scott promised him we'd ride again Monday for FHE. Now I have Haydn in in a baby seat on my bike and Connor pedals behind Scott, we can go anywhere safely!

FHE...Nighttime Snow Play

We had a fun family home evening (FHE) tonight. We took the boys out in our backyard in the dark to play in the snow. We turned on the porch light and Scott and Connor wore flashlights on their heads. We had tons of fun playing in the fresh fallen snow. We made snow angels, built a snowman and had an intense snowball fight. Here are some pics...

We took a trip to the Boston Children's Museum, as Scott mentioned before, last Saturday. It is such an awesome place. Here are some pics of the adventures we had there.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

These are pictures from our trip to NJ for Christmas. We spent Christmas with my Dad and his family. The cutest thing was to dress up the kids and do the Nativity scene. Connor was Joseph and Haydn was a very wiggly baby Jesus. The kids were happy with their presents (Haydn would have been happy with just his orange). Connor's favorite present is probably the tool set he got from Grandma Beckie and he loves the games Santa brought. Scott and I got some great surprises too!

Saturday Fun!

We had such a fun day Saturday. We started with a ward breakfast with Santa. Scott sang a fun version Jingle Bells with a small group of men. It sounded awesome honey! Connor got to meet Santa. The first thing he told him was all about the hat that Santa left at our house (see previous post)! He's so funny! Then we went sledding with some friends. Connor did amazing! He loved it and even went down the hill all by himself! Haydn, on the other hand, hated it from the very first minute I put that snow suit on him! I think he hated being bundled up so much and not being able to move. He screamed for the first 10 min or so and then calmed down but was still highly irritated by the whole thing. He stopped crying when I took him down the hill. I only got one quick smile out of him the whole time we were there. Poor guy. We had a blast sledding and can't wait to do it again.

Starting Christmas!

First let me say sorry! It's been so long since I've blogged. It's been a little crazy! We found out we were going to be able to move as we were headed out of town for Thanksgiving. Then we actually moved the next weekend after that. We are now in a really cute little house of our own. Well, not our own, we are renting but isn't an apt. it's a house. We love having our own space and a lot more of it! It has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a yard. We are in heaven. Anyways, so that's been keeping us busy. We were packing, moving, unpacking and now we are finally setting up for Christmas!

We really wanted to start by cutting down our own tree this year. This is a first for us as a married couple and we have missed it from our childhoods. Anyway, here are some pics of our adventure (warning, there are a lot!)...

First we took a hayride to the trees. We were a little silly on the way. What funny faces!

Once there we had fun choosing the perfect one. Connor insisted that we follow him and he would lead us to our tree. Here's Scott thinking he's being funny! Now my big, strong man cuts down the real tree and hauls it away!

We had fun letting Connor help us decorate! He did a great job putting everything in one concentrated spot. That spot looked GREAT! We helped him reach a little higher. Haydn just stood by enjoying the seen.
Whaalllaaaa! I love my little family! Here's a really cute side story. Connor is really understanding Christmas this year and is becoming a little materialistic for the first time in his life. He keeps making a list of all the things he's going to ask Santa for...
1. New sunglasses (he lost his)
2. A new squirt gun (he broke it)
3. A sister (He was looking at this book where the story is about a brother and sister, he turns to me and says, "Mommy, we are missing a sister in our family. I want one. I'm going to ask Santa for a sister!")

Another story...so Scott served his mission in Holland. There they have a day on Dec. 5th where Santa (different name though) comes and leaves presents in the children's shoes. We decided to add this to our traditions. Santa brought Connor sunglasses already by the way (He was thrilled!). Later that day Connor found a Santa hat laying on the floor and asked what's this. I seized the moment and very worriedly said,"Oh no, Santa must have forgotten it here!" Connor picked up on it wonderfully and got just as concerned. It was SO funny! I calmed him down and said we could leave it for him with the milk and cookies on Christmas Eve. This will now be another tradition!
