New Couches, New Fun

So Scott wakes me up this morning with the words, "Jenn, I think we left the boys unsupervised a little too long this morning!"(they usually wake up and play starting at 6am and I get up in time to make breakfast when Scott is ready a little later). My mind automatically thinks the worst! Here is what the two little guys had been up to, and SO QUIETLY I might add since our room is just off the living room. Needless to say, I just laughed and took a picture because I had thought it was something FAR worse. The boys were proud of their mess as you can see!

Love In My Heart

We have church now at 1pm so we are still getting used to the change in routine. Lately we found it works best to just put Haydn down for and early nap and let Connor do some quiet activities until it's time for church. This Sunday I had Connor read some children's church books while Scott and I had talks to finish preparing/review. Connor came out of the room with two Christmas story books and said,
"Mommy, I feel so much love in my heart."
"Why Connor?" I asked.
"Because when I read these stories and see the picture of baby Jesus I just feel so much love in my heart."
Too PRECIOUS! I'm glad he can feel the spirit and recognize it at such a young age. It always touches me and strengthens my testimony to watch his grow.

Kira and Leslie

These are some pics of the boys playing with some good friends of ours, Kira and Leslie. They moved here last fall and we got to be good friends since Kira is going to law school where Scott went. They came over Sat. night and helped us move some couches and had dinner with us. We've spent so much time with them since they moved here and the boys ADORE them. They are great friends. Thanks again for your help girls.

Easter

I've been very busy unpacking and getting settled. I found my camera in one of the last boxes and we FINALLY got our internet working so I'm FINALLY blogging again. We are LOVING our new place. Scott and I even got our living room painted already, it only took til 2am one night--well worth it. You can see pics of the house behind my cute kids in these Easter photos.

We had a great Easter. The Easter bunny left the boys chocolate bunnies, new Easter Sunday clothes (I didn't get a pic of them dressed up but I will--they were SO cute) and a story of Christ's last week on earth and his resurrection I found here. We even had a special symbolic Easter breakfast where we took Jesus' body (a big marshmallow), anointed him with oil and spices(butter, cinnamon and sugar), and the wrapped him in clean white cloth (a croissant roll). We then put him in the tomb (the oven) and after 3 days(or 8min) looked in the tomb and Jesus wasn't there (or as Connor so wisely insisted he melted!) I thought it was a good object lesson and a good breakfast too. It got the message across.

We're here!

We are all moved into our very OWN house! YEAH! Surprisingly, I feel great and not very stressed at all over the whole move. It really went off without a hitch (except for the delay) and we are now all moved in and making good headway with the unpacking. The boys have been a little moody but I think it's because of the transition and HOPEFULLY it will be short-lived and they will be their happy selves soon. They love their new house though and have lots of fun in our yard and on the trail behind our house. All is well with us and we couldn't be happier! Honestly, I think I'm not stressing out because I am just still floating on cloud nine. This is sooooo fun! I'll post pics soon.

Officially Delayed

I'm a little frustrated today because I've been working like crazy and have most of my house packed with no where to go apparently. We were supposed to move Saturday but our closing has been delayed until next Wed. so we won't move until sometime next week. I guess it's good I didn't get too far ahead of myself and pack the kitchen yet. The boys toys are still out too so I guess we are set for another week. It's not our fault so their is really nothing we can do. I guess I'll slow down a little with the packing and have a little longer to say good-bye to this house.

Snow Adventures

I kinda slacked off from blogging all winter because I wasn't feeling fantastic. Now that I'm up and running better I wanted to catch-up a little. We had a good winter and even though I wasn't feeling great we spent as much time as we could in the snow. We went sledding as a family a few times and the boys and I sledded in our backyard a lot too. We were finally able to make a snowman for the first time last week. The snow hadn't been good for that yet. They kids had so much fun. Now all the snow has melted again and who knows if it will come back (I'm ready for Spring so that's me being hopeful)! Anyways, here's a bunch of pics of our snow adventures this winter...

It's A.....

BOY!!!!!
Yes, we are ecstatic to have another little man in our house. He'll fit right in with all the other crazy boys in our house. Now I just can't wait until he's here! Yes, I have to say I am a little disappointed we didn't get our girl, "yet" (that was for Scott)...but I am quickly getting over it. I love having little boys! How could I not!? We will definitely be getting a female dog now (I gotta have some other female in the house)!

Horsey cake

This is another cake I made for a friend's daughter's birthday party. Obviously,(hopefully) it was a horse theme. I struggled the most I have I think trying to get this one right. I used a mold for a duck actually and transformed it into a horse by cutting and adding extra pieces. I think I did ok for a first try.
