Snuggles

Percy likes to find warm, nonthreatening places to snuggle(i.e. not Haydn). I was feeding Tristan and Percy came and snuggled on my lap. When I put the baby and the cat down to go check something I came back to this...

Our Kitten

A new addition to our family.....PERCY. We got a kitten on Halloween. He's the cutest thing...so energetic! He plays hard and crashes hard. The boys are in love with him. We are hoping he will help ward off mice. We live in the country and had a few last winter when we moved in. We haven't had any in a while but we hear that fall can be bad so we thought a cat might be a good idea. I've NEVER been a cat person but so far so good. I'm hoping since we got him as a kitten I'll love him when he's bigger too. He's already housebroken and he's so playful and adorable...what isn't there to love? He's not really posing for the pictures either, he's too busy for that. By the way, Connor came up with that name when we saw him and it just stuck...cute huh! Meet our Percy Cat/Pussy Cat!

The missing ingredients for happiness...

We got the boys new life vests to help with safety and they (mostly Connor) were really excited to try them out. So we started out our beach trip Fri. by walking to the beach along with Nikki, Grandma's dog. Almost as soon as we got there it started pouring. The boys were not amused! If you've ever been to HI you know that it rains frequently and can be hard but usually doesn't last long. So, we stuck it out and hoped for the best. Haydn DID NOT want to get out of the stroller and play at the beach. After being rained on he was even less ready to play. Connor and I started playing with the dog--throwing her ball and watching her swim to get it. Magically that intriqued Haydn and he thought it was hilarious to watch the dog swim. He wanted out of the stroller to throw the ball. From then on it was all smiles. We threw the ball a while then went swimming and the dog swam right with us. Haydn loved the dog swimmming right up to him and would stick his feet out to touch her as she came up to him and then laugh when she tickled his feet with her nose. Later he was even running in and out of the shallow waves by himself. REAL PROGRESS! It was so nice to see him having fun! I knew it wouldn't take long. Apparently Haydn liked his vest just as much as Connor because he wouldn't let me take it off to rinse him off when we were headed home. I had to pry it off to give him a bath later.

Pet Sitting

We are pet-sitting our friends dog, Rocky, this week. The boys are loving having a dog. It will be really sad to have him go. Rocky is right at home here. He found his favorite place to sit during meals is right next to Haydn. Haydn is the messiest and Rocky just sits waiting until Haydn holds out his hand so he can lick it or get what he is holding. It's pretty funny but not so sanitary(I'm getting used to it)! Connor loves running around with him in the backyard. Meanwhile, Haydn laughs hysterically as Rocky bounds around! Someday these boys of mine will get their dog.

Lots More...

Haydn is such a cute sleeper. The best way to put him down is to lay him with a blanket covering half of his face and he conks right out!

These are some cute pics of Haydn playing. He's getting a lot better at using his hands and he watches his toys intently and bats his hands at them. On Saturday, June 9th, he rolled over for the first time. He was holding his little keys in his hand and while trying to eat them rolled over to his tummy. He does it over and over now. Our baby is growing up already!

We have posted lots of beach pics, and now Scott is in them. We had great fun taking Daddy to the beach. Connor can swim all by himself with those water wings.

My sister thought it would be funny to bury Haydn in the sand so he could sit up by himself. He had no objections and in fact loved it. Here's our little "Buddha", as Dennis likes to call him.

More Daddy and Connor beach pics. We took Scott to our favorite little pool place I talked about earlier. The tide was higher that day though.

Connor and the dogs. Jasmine is the little Beagle he loves. Nikki is the lab.

Saying Goodbye

We had to say goodbye to our sweet little boy guinea pigs. They couldn't stay no matter how cute. We really loved having them in our home and they taught Connor all kinds of lessons. We found them a happy home today. These are pics of Connor getting in one last hug.

"LUCY...You got some 'splaining to do!!!"

Our Lucy turned out to be pregnant when we got her. We joked about that being the case as she got bigger and bigger but blew it off as impossible (we did, after all, get two females). Well, about a week ago, we decided that it was a sure thing as we could feel her babies moving around inside her really well. She gave birth last night to 3 beautiful pups. We've tried to sex them and it's pretty hard at this age but we think that she's got 2 boys and a girl. Lucy did great! She gave birth while I was out of the room putting Connor to bed and I came in just in time to see her cleaning off the last baby that had just come out and then I got to watch her deliver and eat her placentas (not something I will be doing). It was a very cool thing to see especially because I will give birth too in a couple of months. The babies are soooo cute.

Connor and Rocky the puppy

We puppy-sat for some friends of ours (the Pettitts) this morning. They have a very new puppy that is just darling. He and Connor became instant friends. Rocky would follow Connor everywhere, jump up on him, and, if Connor was low enough, tackle and kiss him. Connor loved all of it. Every time Rocky would jump up on Connor he'd say, "Wow, he likes me!" I almost wish we could have one of our own but I think a new baby will be even better. We can't wait to live somewhere we can have a dog. For now, we'll just have to make frequent visits to our friends' house to see their dog.
