Sledding!

Hartford (and most of the Northeast) was blanketed with a layer of beautiful white snow on Friday. We decided it would be a perfect opportunity to go sledding, but just couldn't wait until it stopped snowing. Here are some videos of our experience (.mov format - right-click, save as... and open in Quicktime - sorry for making you use Apple software - blame the digital camera).

This is Scott's mother (Connor's Nana) sledding down the hill.

This is Scott and Connor sledding. Connor was not amused.

This is Scott sledding.

Scott and Jenn sledding.

Connor at 2 years old

Since Connor turns 3 in June (just three months away!) I figured this would be the ideal time to post portraits of Connor when he turned 2. Better late than never, right? ... right?

Connor says...

This morning Haydn was making some big poops (too much info for a blog? maybe. Oh well.) Connor heard Haydn grunting and came in our room. He looks at his little brother, looks up at his mommy and says, "Haydn go *nnngh*, that why Haydn need me!" What a helpful big brother!

Connor also said, "Haydn, when you make poopies, that's why your bum hurts!"

He then said, "Don't worry, little one!" It's always surprising how much of what mommy and daddy say ends up coming out of Connor's mouth.

To the zoo!

Today we went to the zoo with Connor, Haydn, Scott's mom (who is visiting us from Texas), their aunt Katie (visiting from Utah), and Jenn's dad and family (visiting for the day from New Jersey). Everybody took lots of pictures, and we'll be uploading them to Flickr shortly - here are some highlights (more can be found here):

This is how Haydn enjoyed the trip to the zoo.

Connor enjoyed playing around the rhino statue . . .

and pointing out the animals . . .

and playing on the bug carousel . . .

and watching the bug carousel . . .

and hugging his little uncle . . .

and playing with his aunt and uncle and grandpa . . .

and watching the lions . . .

and playing in the bamboo forest . . .

and hamming it up for the camera . . .

and watching the ibexes . . .

and the polar bears . . .

and looking at absolutely everything!

What fun we had!

Connor Says...

Blaming the brother is starting already in our house. Now when Connor wants things I usually will say no to, he tells me Haydn wants it. "Mommy, come turn on a movie. Haydn wants to watch a movie." When I suggest that I will turn on a movie for Haydn and Connor and I can do something else he just says, "No, I will watch with Haydn. He wants me to." Silly boy!

Connor Says...

Here are a few cute stories about Connor...

Last night we were putting Connor to bed and out of nowhere he says, "Jesus is going to come get me, Mommy?" I was surprised and said...No, Mommy doesn't want Him to come get you, he want's Mommy to take care of you. He replied..."But Mommy, Jesus wouldn't hurt me. He's my friend!" Cute...I still would rather keep him around though.

Scott has a silly little game with Connor. He will trap him in some way and in order to get out Connor must repeat random BIG words like "hypotenuse" and "circumference". Scott thinks it's funny to get him to try to say it. Now if Connor gets stuck he'll scream out "HYPOTENUSE!" It's so cute!

Connor also has a new saying. He's always been a very grateful child and uses "please", and "thank you" a lot. Well, now he added, "That's so nice of you!" I love it. I was doing the laundry the other day and he walked in and asked what I was doing. I told him that I had cleaned his clothes for him and he says to me, "Mommy, that's so nice of you!" I hope he is still like this as a teenager.
