OUR OWN HOUSE

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! We are officially grown-ups. We found a great house in Bolton, CT. It's a bit of a move, still a short commute for Scott just from the other side of town. It's also a new ward, that's a little sad. BUT it is definitely close enough to still do playgroup, book club, etc. Bolton is totally small town near big city feel. WE CAN'T WAIT! It's a 3 bed, 2 bath ranch. It's on almost half an acre and has a deck and above ground pool too. It's super cute and we can't wait to make it ours. Closing date is March 20th. When we get all settled, and it warms up, everyone is invited over for a Bar-BQ/Pool Party!

Island Cake

I made this cake for a friends Island themed birthday party. It was a hit. I crushed graham crackers to look like sand. The trees were big pretzels with fake leaves on top with gobstoppers as coconuts. The fire was cut up fruit snacks surrounded with little pretzel pieces of wood. There were also fishy crackers at the bottom of the waterfall.

Can I keep him?

Connor decided today he needed money, who knows why. He randomly said to me, "Ok Mom, what chores can I do?" Dumbfounded I respond, "Let me think...I know one!" And then the bomb hits..."Mom, if I do a chore for you can I have a penny for my piggy bank?" How can I refuse! He asks to help me and asks for pittance in return. I'll take it while I can get it! So, his chore was setting up dinner. He arranged tacitos on a tray, mashed some avacado, mixed some crystal light and set the table. He was so happy to get his penny reward that I'm sure this is not the end of his helpfulness. The question will be how long it will take him to figure out what a penny is worth and ask for more of a salary. I'll hold off on that lesson for a while and maybe I'll get good cheap help through kindergarten.

Tonka Bike

Here's Haydn trying to reach the pedals on the bike from Grandma...not quite there! He doesn't seem to care...he loves it anyway.

Haydn's 2nd B-day

Haydn turned 2 today! He's such a smart crazy little guy! We LOVE him! We celebrated by going out the the rain forest cafe for dinner, which he LOVED! We couldn't keep Haydn eating he had to say hello to the elephants every 5 min. He was fascinated and laughing at the animals and saying hello all while holding on for dear life to my arm as if to say "I'm cool if you hold me but don't you dare let go!" I made a special Lion cake for him too. He got some really cool additions to the train set we got for Christmas for his present from our family. Grandma Beckie sent his favorite gift though-a Tonka toddler bike and helmet(with knee pads too). The bike isn't even set up yet but he loved it. He wanted to wear the helmet to bed, silly boy! After brushing his teeth he snuck back downstairs to check on his un-put-together bike one last time. He will be so happy to see it assembled tomorrow so more pics to come. Happy Birthday Haydn! We LOVE YOU! Look how he's grown...

It was a Happy Birthday!

First, I need to apologize to all those who check my blog...I have been really slacking off. With being nauseous a lot I haven't been in the mood to sit at the computer and blog and I think I've gotten out of the habit. Now that I'm starting to feel better (knock on wood) I hope to do better. Also, when I have been on the computer I've been house hunting and not much else. We are actually hoping that will come to an end soon because we are putting an offer on a house tonight. I'll let you know how that all turns out.

Monday was my 26th Birthday! Yeah...another year! Anyways...it was a very special long weekend of partying. My Dad and his little kiddos came up Saturday and took us out to dinner. Then on Sunday all the kids helped decorate a cake for me. I had a Princess Party(at Connor's insistence). Instead of making it in the shape of a princess though we decided pink strawberry cake with "Princess Icing" would do. To top it off Scott cut strawberries in the the shape of flowers too. I also had magic wand candles! The real part of the princess theme though was that I got treated like a princess all weekend. Sunday night some friends threw together a birthday dinner for me (the birthday celebration part was a surprise). There, I got another chance to make a wish with 26 candles...it really lit up the room. Unfortunately, late that night I felt horribly sick and so on my actual birthday I spent most of the day recovering in bed from a bad night. Luckily, I felt well enough later that we went out to dinner and celebrated again! I got a really cool sewing machine for my birthday that of course I have every intention of using. We'll see if it happens with a move soon and a baby coming. Thanks for all those that celebrated with me.
