Like Father...Like Son

I knew it would happen one day...why do kids try to grow up so fast!? Having Scott for a Daddy, it comes as no surprise to me that Connor is fascinated by computers. We have been going to a new library recently, since we moved, and there Connor discovered computer games. It just so happens Santa brought him one for Christmas. He loves to play his Clifford computer game. It's very educational too. It teaches letters and sounds and has word and letter games. I try to make it an activity for him and I to do while Haydn is taking a nap. Unfortunately, that has backfired a little bit since now Connor keeps trying to convince me that Haydn has "tired eyes" and needs to go to sleep (so he can play his game of course)! What a sly boy. Like father...like son...

FHE...Nighttime Snow Play

We had a fun family home evening (FHE) tonight. We took the boys out in our backyard in the dark to play in the snow. We turned on the porch light and Scott and Connor wore flashlights on their heads. We had tons of fun playing in the fresh fallen snow. We made snow angels, built a snowman and had an intense snowball fight. Here are some pics...

Haydn Did...11 months

Haydn has some new tricks up his sleeve. He learned to clap! It's really cute. He gets really excited when I clap at things he does and shout "YEAH!" He claps now too. Along with that, he's learned to make the sign language sign for "more" which is a similar motion to clapping. We've been working on this for a while but he seems to think it is easier to use is "AHHH's" or banging his hands on his highchair to get what he wants. Today for lunch I got him to do it several times with much praise, which he loves as before mentioned! I'm so happy he's got it. Still no walking. He could if he wanted to but he thinks crawling is faster and safer for the moment. Haydn has always been one to do things at his own pace!

My SUNBEAM!

Connor had his first day of his new sunbeams class at church. No more nursery for my big man. He transitioned great. Scott brought him into the big primary room and he spotted his best friend, Jonah, and sat down by him with no prodding at all. Reports were that he was very cute and was doing great. He made a "map" during his primary class to tell us how to get home that he was very excited about. When asked what he learned during primary he said, "Lot's of songs" (his favorite "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam" because he now is one). When asked what his favorite part of his sunbeam class was he said, "CANDY!" There you have it! !We are so proud of how Connor is growing and learning!

Boston Children's Museum

We took a trip to the Boston Children's Museum, as Scott mentioned before, last Saturday. It is such an awesome place. Here are some pics of the adventures we had there.

Pet Sitting

We are pet-sitting our friends dog, Rocky, this week. The boys are loving having a dog. It will be really sad to have him go. Rocky is right at home here. He found his favorite place to sit during meals is right next to Haydn. Haydn is the messiest and Rocky just sits waiting until Haydn holds out his hand so he can lick it or get what he is holding. It's pretty funny but not so sanitary(I'm getting used to it)! Connor loves running around with him in the backyard. Meanwhile, Haydn laughs hysterically as Rocky bounds around! Someday these boys of mine will get their dog.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

These are pictures from our trip to NJ for Christmas. We spent Christmas with my Dad and his family. The cutest thing was to dress up the kids and do the Nativity scene. Connor was Joseph and Haydn was a very wiggly baby Jesus. The kids were happy with their presents (Haydn would have been happy with just his orange). Connor's favorite present is probably the tool set he got from Grandma Beckie and he loves the games Santa brought. Scott and I got some great surprises too!

The North Pole

Here is some major catch-up of our Christmas adventures... We visited Santa at the North Pole and saw Mrs. Clause and the elves making toys. We went with some friends of ours. The kids had a blast and the kids even got to ride in Santa's sleigh.
