Connor and Jonah

Connor had such a good time when his friend visited last night. I had set up our tent indoors so they could have a fun space to play in and they played hard until bedtime. They made some awesome things with our tool set together. Scott helped them make a cool robot. Then they got to sleep in the tent. I knew it would take them a while to settle down so I was patient and let them have their fun. They had flashlights with them and I could hear them talking and giggling and even singing together(Ba Ba Black Sheep). I love little boys. Connor and Jonah have so much fun together. An hour and a half after I had turned the lights off they were still going strong, so I tucked them in again. Then I laid between them and we read a book together. Afterwards, I turned out the lights and told them it was really time to go to sleep and they did- 5 Minutes later they were out! Cute kids!

Connor Caught Me

The other day I was having a bad day. There was too much to do, too little time, and an unhappy Haydn through most of it. Connor wasn't listening as fast as I wanted him to so I snapped at him a couple times throughout the morning. As I was making lunch, I was trying to get him to do something and for everything I would ask him to do he would ask "Why?" Haydn was screaming in the background because he was hungry and I was getting no cooperation so I yelled again. Connor looks up at me and disgusted says "Mommy, you need a nap! You are being grumpy!" Thanks a lot Connor. I tell him that when he acts like I was so I guess I deserved it. It was a wake up call even though he got sent to a corner for talking to me like that. The rest of the day was better. I hate it when my 3 year old has to call me out on my moodiness.

More Fun at Grandpa's

We went to my Dad's to spend some extra time with the family. It was especially nice to get some extra time with my sister, Susie, who I don't get to see very often. The kids had a great time together. I love how silly Haydn looks in these sunglasses too. He let me put them on and then he actually left them untouched while he walked around for a few minutes. It was sooo cute!

Connor and his aunt and uncle spent nearly all their time riding bikes and playing on the trampoline. Connor really liked the tramp this time. Grandpa had fun bouncing the kids around and as you can see they LOVED every minute.

Easter

Easter was Great! We went to an Egg Hunt on a Golf Course on Saturday. The kids got their faces painted and Connor jumped in one of those big inflatable playhouses. Dad, Ana and their kids and Susie came to meet us there then they stayed through Easter Sunday. Connor had so much fun with Gabriel and Rosana that we are going up to visit them today for a few days. I was so amazed at how fast Haydn learned to open his Easter eggs. I'll have to get some video up when we get back.

A Couple Things...

Haydn was walking around like this today. I thought it was funny so I got a pic.

Here's another cake I did. I made this for our playgroup Easter party. Connor had fun helping me dye the coconut and put jelly beans on top. He couldn't wait to eat it the next day!

A Dreaded Day...

The dreaded day has come! Connor officially now believes he can outsmart his mother-he's started lying to me! So far it's little things like whether or not he woke up his brother in the morning or letting Haydn take the whole fall for something they both had a part in. I was loving his complete honesty! Oh boy, I need to smash this quick. Luckily he's got a "guilty face" so so far I'm the amazing mom with "eyes in the back of her head" but I don't want to let it get past this stage. Any good tips?

Firsts!

We have some fun news! Scott got his first REAL job offer from the company he works at now and we are really excited that we are going to stay in Connecticut! The only big hurtle he has left is the BAR this summer and then we will officially not be students anymore! We are thrilled to know where we will be and that we will have money coming in! I'm so proud of my wonderful, hard working man! Also, Connor started his first day of preschool today. It is at a High School Child Development Program so he has 3 high school students for teachers. It is 2 hrs 2 times a week. He really enjoyed all the activities and warmed up to his teachers nicely! Here are some pics from his first day!

Imagine Nation

We had such a blast Saturday when we visited a children's museum called Imagine Nation! There were so many fun activities to do! Here are some pics of the boys exploring...

Haydn's Walking Progresses

Haydn is getting quite good at both walking and listening to instructions or requests. He is such a sweetie pie. I love watching him wobble around everywhere. The other day I was chasing him and he was crawling as fast as he could away from me, laughing all the way. Then he paused, stood up and took a couple steps as if to run away but didn't make it too far and resigned to crawling again. It was so fun to see him try to run! He'll be chasing Connor in no time!

Bubble Boy

I found this picture while sifting through our Flickr account. Jenn has quite the artistic eye (and Connor is quite the ham!)

I think the curl in his hair makes this picture.

Something Right...

So, I was reading Connor and Haydn the story of Peter Pan before bed last night and it got to the part about finding a "happy thought" and sprinkling pixie dust so they could fly. I turned and asked Connor, "What's your happy thought Connor?" and he said, "Ummm...just when we (our family) are all together." It made my heart melt. We must be doing something right if he loves being with us. We then decided Haydn's happy thought was his milk in his sippy cup.

Big Brown Eyes!

I love photography. I used to be really into it in high school (wow that seems like forever ago)! Anyways, close-up shots are my favorites and what better subjects than my CUTE kids! Just look at those big brown eyes! How can I not be completely in love with a face like that!?

Biking in the Snow

Connor had a friend over, Sam, the other day and since it was warm (40ish) we decided to take advantage of it and do a little bike riding. There is still snow on the ground from the last storm over the weekend but it looks like it might be our last snow(at least Scott thinks so). Connor asks if he can ride his bike constantly so it was nice to be able to give in. I can't wait until it warms up for good for a while!

Cakes!

Anyone that knows me knows I love to bake AND eat baked goods. I've been challenging myself recently and trying to make cakes in all kinds of shapes! I love doing this! So, just a note out their to all my friends...if you don't want to make your kids birthday cakes or other party cakes, let me do it for you. So far I've done a couple different dogs, a soccer ball, a duck, and a car. I'd love to try other shapes too so if you have an idea, ask me and I'll tell you if I can find a way to do it. I'd love to try.

Haydn's Goofy Smile!

Haydn has the cutest goofy grin. He scrunches up his eyes and cheeks and shows his two top teeth really well with big open smile. I love this face. He makes it when he wants to be silly or pretend to laugh. It often goes with a cute little chuckle too. Every time he does it I just want to grab him and squeeze him because he's so adorable! P.S. Brittanie, doesn't this remind you of Keslie?
