Growing...

Connor woke up yesterday and said..."Mom, I'm awake, it's 7 o'clock on my clock (it wasn't 7 on mine!) and I grew last night!" Then today at lunch we were eating and he mentioned that he hadn't grown that much today. I don't know what this fascination all the sudden is with growing and feeling like he's grown but it's really cute!

I DID IT.....

Today marks a special day! There were two "I did it!" moments in our family...

1) Haydn managed to climb out of his crib, several times in fact. He doesn't do it nearly as graceful as Connor did but for a 15th month old it is impressive none the less. He was very proud of himself to describe it lightly! He climbs up just enough to get his waist on the edge and then does a nice somersault, head first, to the floor! I switched his crib around, the back is higher than the front (it's working for now), and we've told Connor he is no longer allowed to climb in and out of Haydn's crib (part of their morning playtime routine) which I think aided in Haydn's early ability to climb out.

2)For the past 2 months I've been working on a running goal for myself. I started a Couch Potato to 5K program (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml) and I reached my goal for the first time today. I ran for 30 minutes straight or 3 miles(5K) straight! Wow! There was no way I could have done this at the beginning so this is an awesome feat for me! Now I just have to keep doing it to stay in shape! I feel great when I run! So anyways, this is my new hobby I am doing for myself!

RI Children's Museum

On our last day of camping we packed up and went to the children's museum in Providence, RI. It was really awesome. The highlight of the trip was the water room. Scott and Connor spent at leadt half and hour trying to build a dam that would make the water overflow on to the floor. They got close! Haydn loved splashing and playing with the balls in the water.

Camping Over Memorial Day

We went camping over memorial day weekend. We had such a great time, along with some friends of ours, in Rhode Island. We went to the beach, hiking, tried out our new dutch ovens (very successfully I might add), and we loved our new big tent too! Connor loved the beach even though it was windy and chilly. He got in the water and played with buckets in the sand. You couldn't find Haydn without a rock in his hand and sometimes he even tasted the rock too. It was warm most of our trip so we were really comfortable. We had a nice Sunday hike and taught Connor all about the creation of the world while we walked around a beautiful pond. It was an awesome trip!

Law School Graduation!

Scott graduated on Sunday May 18th, 2008! It was the perfect morning! Graduation was awesome. The boys were well-behaved. My Dad and Mom got to come too. As the ceremony started I got this overwhelming feeling and almost started crying. I can't believe law school is over. Scott has worked so hard and we have grown so much over the last 3 years. I am so proud of him. Scott was all smiles too, giddy almost! Connor was so excited to see his Daddy graduate (although the actual thing was a little boring to him). Haydn couldn't get enough of Scott's tassel as you can see in the photos. Congratulations honey! YOU AMAZE ME! The boys and I are so lucky to have you!

Another Cake

I made this cake for a baby shower over the weekend. Isn't it cute!

THE CIRCUS!

We went to the circus with some friends on Saturday. It was so awesome! Before the show we got to see the tigers, elephants and horses up close and watch clowns and other circus performers perform on the floor. We even watched an elephant paint! The show was fantastic and even kept Haydn's attention remarkably well. I think the elephants were the kids favorite part. We went to a late showing and Haydn eventually conked out in the last ten minutes or so. He fell fast asleep on Scott which was so cute mostly because Haydn just doesn't do that anymore. Thanks again to our friends for inviting us it was a blast!
