My Baby Is Growing UP

Connor has always been OBSESSED with growing. He tells me almost everyday that he grew the overnight or at nap time. He can't wait to be the boss, like Mommy and Daddy. In a couple months he's off to kindergarten. He's always been a good sleeper so he still sometimes takes naps. I guess I have to give up nap time though so he can get ready for school. I've told him he won't have to take naps anymore when he goes to school so I KNOW he'll hold me to it. Today, I let him have a quiet time and told him to read books some books. We go to the library every week to get more books for us to cycle through. He chose a bunch of those to read-all level 2 or higher (meaning can read with help or on their own). Each book had at least 30 pages some had more than 60 pages with plenty of words on them. He read 4 of them, on his own, in under an hour. Afterwards, I asked him to bring me the books and tell me what they were about. He was able to summarize all the stories to me while I was working on something. About 2 hours later I picked up one of the books and flipped through it and asked him a question about the story. He still remembered and recounted the details to me including 3 characters names and what they did together. I AM ONE PROUD MOM! It seems like I just brought this helpless little baby home and here he is seriously independent. He constantly amazes me. The best part of being a Mom is watching your children succeed and learn new things. Keep at it Connor! You know though...you could slow down your growing a little!

Superheros to the Rescue!

I am the luckiest Mommy around. I have two superheros constantly guarding over my house. If there's a monster near...no need to fear! I've really enjoyed watching my boys protect me after finding all the dress-up/halloween costumes lately. Aren't they dreamy superheros too?

Fun with Friends

We got to say goodbye to the Wests again this weekend when we watched their kiddos for them. These girls are some of Connor's best friends. They had a BALL together. I took them on a hike and we had found a frog, and a snake on our way to feed the ducks. I took lots of pics on my phone (which probably didn't come out well) but I don't know how to get them on the computer yet so I might add some more later if it's worth it. After our hike the kids enjoyed some ice cream and as you can see it was well enjoyed as well. I PROMISED Anika I'd put these pics up so here ya go sweetie. We miss you guys already!

Lupa Zoo Adventure

Today I went to playgroup with some new friends. We took a trip to the Lupa Zoo. It was small but fun for the kids! They had a blast! I think the coolest things we saw were some big Himalayan Bears, a giraffe, a kangaroo, and the cutest little marmoset. On the way home Connor asked when we were going to go to the zoo again. We carpooled and Connor got to ride with his friends and that was a big hit too. I'm glad we are making more friends near us.

Sad Goodbye

Unfortunately we have to say goodbye to some awesome friends soon so...Scott and I threw a dinner party and got together one last time. Here's some pics mostly of our wiggly kids. We will miss you guys...A LOT! Keep in touch and you are always welcome to visit!

Puddle Pleasure

Today we took a rainy day and made the most of it. I have WAY too many cute pics from this morning but here are some narrowed down faves! The boys couldn't have had more fun! Once I turned around and found Haydn sitting in a big puddle. I reacted to quickly, on instinct, and told him to get up and then I couldn't convince him to do it again for the camera. Wouldn't it be nice to be young again!?

NY Aquarium

My sister Katie is in town so we decided to do something fun. We had a wonderful day at the NY Aquarium. All the boys LOVED it. Here's some pics of the boys and some of our favorite things we saw.

Why I Love Spaghetti...

Here are my boys after enjoying some yummy spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. Isn't it amazing how messy it can be?
