I LOVE Having Boys!

Today I was gardening out in the backyard. I LOVE HAVING A YARD! Anyways, I was weeding and the ground was really wet because of some recent rain. I found tons of worms every time I pulled up anything from the ground. My normal, albeit very girly, instinct would be to shriek and quit but instead since my boys were near I thought, "I've gotta show this to Connor!" So Connor got an awesome nature lesson today while we talked about and held (I had gloves on) worms and rolly pollies (potato bugs). Connor loved it. Now if I had girls would I have done this? I can't say I would or wouldn't but it could be as fun as watching a little boy enjoy leaning about and holding bugs. Connor really wanted the worms to crawl on his shoulders and have a ride. I think he was a little nervous about them being in his hands but he held it with no squealing at all. When I introduced him to the rolly polly I had prefaced it with, "Oh, these are my favorite bugs!" when I found it. From then on he was searching the grass and every time he saw a bug he'd say, "Oh, these are my favorite!" What a cutie!

Animal Farm

Today we went to a farm with some friends. The kids had a blast as they fed ponies, donkeys, goats, sheep and llamas. It was a little cold today but worth it! I got some cute pics of the gang...

Connor's Soccer Team

This is Connor's soccer team. It's a parent/child class where basically they learn how to control a ball but it's a soccer team. All week Connor has been so excited to play soccer with his Daddy, oh and his friends Katie and Lexi too! They met for the first time today.

Here's Connor playing soccer with Katie and Lexi.

This boy is all about soccer!

Great KICK!

Here's what they did today...They learned how to control the ball with small kicks. They got to dribble around a cone and back to help them learn control. Connor did really great.

They learned how to stop the ball or "put the brakes on". They would dribble the ball until the coach blew his whistle and then they would stop the ball.

Then we played a game of sharks and minnows. Mommies and Daddies were sharks trying to take the ball from the minnows.

Haydn had some fun too! Just try to tell him he's too little to play soccer!

A Helping Hand

Helping hands are usually appreciated. Today Connor thought he'd be helpful and try to clean out his shoes. We had been at the park and boys will be boys. He had gotten quite filthy to say the least. His shoes were full of sand and he wanted to get them clean. We had walked to the park so while I took Haydn upstairs to bed (he'd conked out on the way home) and put the stroller away, Connor proceeded to take care of cleaning his shoes. I walked in the door and stepped in some sand. I noticed a nice trail following the path he took to the bathroom shaking his shoes out. I call, "Connor!" Then I see the bathroom sink is covered in dirt and his shoes are on the edges, both of them wet. "I cleaned my shoes Mommy" says the sweetest toddler in the world. I was a upset at the big mess he'd made and the fact that his shoes were soaking wet and unwearable for the rest of the day so I asked, "What were you thinking!" His reply, "My shoes were sandy and I couldn't get all the sand out so I had to wash them." Now that the mess is clean and Connor now knows not to put water in his shoes, I can't help but laugh. I love how much he wanted to help and solve his own problem. It's so sweet! Kids are such an adventure!

Dinosaur Adventure

We went to a dinosaur museum today for playgroup. It was super fun! We got to see fossils and dinosaur replicas. The kids played with dino puppets and made there own dinosaur puzzles to take home. We ate lunch there and the kids had such fun rolling down hills and playing ball. We went on a little nature walk around the museum too and saw a snake in the wild, which was only so awesome because it wasn't a threat.

The Coolest Bike EVER

Is this not the coolest bike attachment EVER! Look at the smile on Connor's face! He was in heaven! It'll be good practice for feeling how to ride without training wheels too! Scott put this together on Saturday night and then took it apart after their ride (it easily attaches and detaches from the bike) ...Connor was so crushed. Scott promised him we'd ride again Monday for FHE. Now I have Haydn in in a baby seat on my bike and Connor pedals behind Scott, we can go anywhere safely!

Things Connor says

This afternoon we put Connor down for a nap. He has been having a hard time going to bed, so Jenn has been letting him read books as long as he lays in bed (the wisdom of this policy has yet to be seen, I think). In any case, this afternoon Connor asked when he could get up and Jenn told him that he can get up when the clock says "1" (this would have kept him in bed for an hour). At 12:45, he came and found us.

(Mommy) What's up, Connor?

(Connor) Mommy, my clock won't say just 1!

(Mommy) Go lay down until it says 1, then you can get up.

(Connor) But it takes too long!

(Daddy) *laughing hysterically*

Haydn's "Hi!"

Haydn is really getting into sign language lately. He knows all the important ones that get him things--please, more, milk. He knows exactly where I have the basket of Easter candy and he goes in that room and sits down and very animatedly rubs his hand over his chest(PLEASE!) If I ignore it or say no sometimes he takes matters into his own hands. The other day he climbed up onto a little kiddy chair to reach on top of the dresser where the candy is. I walked into the room just as the chair slipped out form under him and he was hanging from the dresser. It was hilarious, only because I happened to have great timing and he didn't get hurt. Here's Haydn talking...
